Your use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, as well as any modifications or updates we may implement.

Passy is an offline password manager provided as an NPM package designed to enhance personal security by securely storing and retrieving passwords locally. The Service operates entirely offline, meaning no data is transmitted to or stored on external servers. It includes features such as encryption for password security, CLI-based operations for convenience, and local storage for full control of your data. The Service is intended solely for personal use, and its functionality should not be extended or modified for any illegal or unauthorized purposes.

3. User Responsibilities

To ensure the secure and effective use of Passy, you must adhere to the following responsibilities:

• Data Backup: Since all data is stored locally, it is your responsibility to regularly back up your encrypted password files to prevent accidental loss or corruption. Passy does not provide any remote backup or recovery solutions.
• Security Measures: You must safeguard your encryption key or master password. Failure to do so will result in the permanent inability to access your stored passwords.
• Local Storage Management: You are responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of the device on which Passy is installed. Ensure that unauthorized individuals do not gain access to your device.
• Legal Compliance: You agree to use Passy in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. You must not use the Service to store or manage data that violates any laws or regulations.
• Software Updates: Regularly check for updates to the Passy NPM package to ensure you have the latest security enhancements and features.

4. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights related to Passy, including but not limited to the software, design, codebase, documentation, and branding, are owned by Birat Datta. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license to use the Service strictly as intended. You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
• Modify, copy, or redistribute the software in any unauthorized manner.
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without prior written consent.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. While we strive to ensure the Service operates as intended, we do not guarantee: That the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices and systems. That the encryption and security features will be invulnerable to breaches, though we employ industry-standard practices. The suitability of the Service for any specific purpose.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Birat Datta be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use or inability to use the Service. This includes but is not limited to: Loss of data or access to passwords due to lost encryption keys or corrupted files. Unauthorized access to your stored data caused by negligence in securing your device or encryption key. Any system failures, bugs, or incompatibilities that may occur during the use of Passy.

7. Updates to the Service

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the Service or its features at any time without prior notice. Any updates or changes will be reflected in the NPM package repository and these Terms and Conditions. By continuing to use the Service after updates, you acknowledge and accept the changes.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Service at our sole discretion if you: Violate any of these Terms and Conditions. Use the Service for any unauthorized, illegal, or harmful purposes. Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the Service and delete all related files from your device. Any data loss resulting from termination is your sole responsibility.

9. Privacy and Data Security

Passy is designed to prioritize user privacy by operating entirely offline. However, you are responsible for securing your local storage and encryption key. Passy does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data or passwords on external servers. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for managing your own data security.
